Castle.Pagination v1.1.0 released

December 5th, 2009 . by Daniel Hölbling

Finally the Castle.Pagination component has reached v1.1.0 and is ready to be incorporated into the upcoming Castle Monorail 2.0 release.

As for the changes: There are hardly any. Pagination is a solved problem and most of the code changes where bug fixes and minor improvements.

Anyway, thanks Jonathan Rossi for helping me with the release! I can’t wait for Castle to move to GitHub so we can finally put that whole “non-committer sends patches” misery behind us.

Congratulations, I really need you to convince me to use Monorail over ASP MVC. I feel like I'm missing a trick here. Congratulations, I really need you to convince me to use Monorail over ASP MVC. I feel like I'm missing a trick here.

    Well .. That's a tricky question.
MonoRail is imo more feature complete and also a lot older.
MVC feels a lot more lightweight at first, but has it's design issues and also it's limitations.
MonoRail on the other hand is a really great framework, only with some back-compatibility burdens that feel awkward at times.. But I don't know anything that can't be done with MonoRail (the opposite doesn't hold true with MVC)

Also MR integrates very well with the rest of the Castle stack. So if you look for Windsor, ActiveRecord (or NHibernate) integration etc.. MR just rocks..

I'd just suggest giving it a try. The frameworks feel similar and they both do their thing quite well. boils down to taste imo.
